About the Artist

Timothy White

There are those who call me Tim

Someone recently told me I look like a mix between Matt Furie and Gandalf. I am more than happy to accept that moniker.

I have been doodling, drawing, and painting for as long as I can remember — long before I could form complete sentences. Creating beauty gives me energy. Creating beauty that delights others gives me even more.

It has been a long and meaningful journey. My art has appeared in teen magazines and on Russian book covers. It has served as stage backdrops for productions of Peter Pan and Singing in the Rain. My work has graced the walls of two U.S. Taekwondo dojos in Colorado Springs and brightened the children’s oncology center there. My art has shown in two Anti-Human Trafficking Art Shows in Colorado Springs. I’ve held solo exhibitions from Austria to Colorado. My paintings now live in businesses and private collections around the world.

Recently, I faced a profound challenge. A torn retina and hemorrhage left me without normal use of my right eye. I am, quite literally, a one-eyed artist. The way I see the world has changed. Light is no longer assumed. It is pursued. Protected. Honored.

I grew up in Austria, surrounded by castles and palaces. I’ve danced in halls where emperors once stood and traveled throughout much of Europe. From the squares of Venice, to Monet’s Water Lilies in Paris, to the back streets of Cinque Terre, I was immersed in beauty and culture from an early age. It is this beauty — enduring, luminous, sacred — that I seek to capture and share.

Today I reside in Missouri with my wife of, more than thirty years. We are blessed with three beautifully (im)perfect children, two wonderful children-in-law, and one cherished grandchild.

But perhaps the most defining aspect of my life is my love for Jesus Christ. I am passionate about telling the story of the one true God — and I strive to let that story shine through every layer of paint.
