As a teenager in Austria, I was captivated by The Onedin Line, a British series following a seafaring family business. While the idea of being stranded in the middle of a dark ocean still terrifies me, there is an undeniable romance in the silhouette of a ship against the horizon.
I have long admired J.M.W. Turner, whose paintings captured the dramatic tension of a world on the brink of change—when steam power began to eclipse sail. His Snow Storm: Steam-Boat off a Harbour’s Mouth especially resonates with me: movement, vulnerability, and power colliding in a single, swirling moment.
I am excited to announce a new series of paintings representing watercraft—from the majesty of tall ships to the quiet simplicity of a rowboat. My goal is to transport you to places that stir the imagination.
